Logan Geen, MHA, Esq. is a New York-licensed attorney and Healthcare Innovation Counsel at Nixon Gwilt Law. Logan is a health care compliance and reimbursement specialist who has spent over eight years helping a wide range of providers navigate Federal and state regulatory schemes. His areas of expertise include fraud and abuse (Stark, Anti-Kickback, False Claims), licensure, privacy (HIPAA and beyond), payor/provider relations, and Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement.

Prior to joining Nixon Gwilt Law, Logan served as Legal Counsel for Government Programs at Excellus BlueCross BlueShield/Univera Healthcare in Upstate NY, supporting the plan’s Medicare Advantage, Medicaid Managed Care, and Federal Employee Program lines of business. His responsibilities included leading responses to a variety of audits and investigations, advising the Plan on coverage responsibilities and provider relations, and serving as a member of the government relations team.

Prior to joining Excellus Logan spent 5 years in private practice, during which time he was compliance counsel to a large integrated delivery system, Seconded with the counsel’s office of an academic medical center, and worked with a wide range of providers, including home care agencies, nursing homes, and medical practices. 

He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law and holds a Master of Health Administration from the Sloan Program at Cornell University. He is an Adjunct Professor of Health Administration and Nursing at Roberts Wesleyan University and currently a member of the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association’s Health Law Section. 

Logan has a particular passion for working with clients who are creating innovation in LGBTQ+ health care, as well as innovators across the health equity space. He looks forward to bringing his background on the payor side to assisting clients in identifying opportunities for reimbursement in value based care and other arrangements with payors.

In his spare time, Logan enjoys heavy metal concerts and sitting Zen (not at the same time!), gardening, musicals, and spending time in the Adirondacks. He lives in Rochester, NY with his husband Holly and their 4 cats.
