Katherine Bain, Esq. is a Virginia-licensed attorney and Of Counsel at Nixon Law Group. Katherine provides legal, regulatory, and business guidance to clients in the healthcare technology space, with a particular expertise serving Software as a Service clients.  She assists high growth health tech clients with licensing agreements, regulatory compliance, corporate transactions/mergers/acquisitions, employment contracts and disputes, and general contract drafting/negotiations. 

During the course of her career, Katherine served as Outside General Counsel for healthcare liability insurers, represented a Fortune 200 pharmaceutical company in a multi-billion-dollar class action settlement, and represented global Fortune 500 retail companies in technology matters and corporate transactions. She brings a wealth of experience in business strategy, transaction negotiation, process and project management, data analysis, strategic communications and legal acumen to deliver thoughtful and targeted outcomes for her clients.

Katherine graduated cum laude from the University of Richmond T.C. Williams School of Law. Prior to joining Nixon Law Group, she was an attorney with Hunton & Williams LLP, an AM 100 law firm, where she specialized in technology transactions, outsourcing, and general transactions for Fortune 500 clients. She is a member of the Virginia Bar association and is based in the Firm’s Richmond office. She volunteers with the Science Museum of Virginia Liaison Committee and lives in Henrico County with her husband and three children.
