FAQ

How is Nixon Law Group different from other law firms?

Nixon Law Group takes a new approach to providing legal services that is pragmatic, flexible, and cost-effective. Our attorneys attended the best law schools and have experience at the top law firms in the country. We provide direct client service rather than pushing work down to inexperienced associates. We encourage alternative fee arrangements as a means of reaching an optimal result for our clients in more cost-effective manner. Nixon Law Group serves clients through an alliance of small firms across the country, operating under an “Affiliate Model” of practice.

What is an “alternative fee arrangement?”

Most law firms bill for their services by the hour. However, alternative fee arrangements are often more cost effective for clients, with the added benefit of enabling clients to budget for legal expenses more accurately. Examples of alternative fee arrangements include flat rate arrangements, contingencies, success fees, or a combination thereof. Such arrangements give clients the freedom to communicate openly with their attorney without fear of driving up costs every time they hit send on an email.

What is the “affiliate model” of practice?

Nixon Law Group serves clients through an alliance of small firms across the country. Our attorneys are not “Partners” or “Associates” in the typical law firm sense of the terms. Attorneys maintain their own independent practices and office space, while affiliating with Nixon Law Group for matters that require their particular area of expertise. We don’t push work down to inexperienced associates, and we are not burdened by the overhead expenses of large firms.
