THE AFFILIATE MODEL OF PRACTICE:  A WHOLE NEW WAY OF SERVING CLIENTS

Large law firms typically follow a traditional model for providing legal services, where matters are staffed by a pyramid of attorneys with the least experienced lawyers doing the bulk of the work, all billed at hourly rates.  The high legal fees generated by this model go in part towards covering enormous overhead that big firms are saddled with – expensive office space and training of junior associates.

Understandably, the traditional model of practice has never been very popular with clients.  In today’s economic climate, it has gone from unpopular to impossible for many clients, who often find themselves priced out of pursuing matters because the legal fees would exceed their return on investment.

That’s why Nixon Law Group has developed the “Affiliate Model” of practice.  We serve clients through an alliance of small firms across the country started by attorneys from the best law schools with experience at top tier law firms or in government.  These attorneys are carefully screened and selected for the outstanding quality of their work.  Our attorneys are not “Partners” or “Associates” in the typical law firm sense of the terms.  Attorneys maintain their own independent practices and office space, while affiliating with Nixon Law Group for matters that require their particular area of expertise.  This means that all Nixon Law Group attorneys have extensive experience and practice area expertise; we don’t push work down to inexperienced associates.  And we aren’t burdened by the high overhead of large firms.
